HomeGlossaryOpen Graph

Recently, Open Graph has emerged as a way to modularize web pages as objects for social sharing and third-party interaction. The official description of the Open Graph protocol is, “The Open Graph protocol enables any web page to become a rich object in a social graph. For instance, this is used on Facebook to allow any web page to have the same functionality as any other object on Facebook.”

There are a wide variety of meta properties that can be set via Open Graph, such as the title, type, image thumbnail and canonical URL of a web page. Those interested in learning more about Open Graph can do so at the official protocol homepage.

Example: <meta property=”og:url” content=”http://www.brafton.com” />
